This was a stitch that combined my two passions - Genealogy and Cross-stitching. I have been documenting my family tree at my other blog, Digging Down East, for four years now, and this summer I found the grave of my 3rd great grandfather, Howard Winslow Brackley, in a tucked-away cemetery in Freeman, Maine. He served with Company D of the 28th Maine Infantry.
